Swan Lake West Hollywood Theatre reviews
long is an understatement
Showtime was 1:30. We were punctual, being respectful of the artists. Then, almost 90 minutes pass, filled with random performances (from local school classes to solos). By the time Swan Lake began, my daughter was done with the ballet. She's 6 but has great patience and self-control. Swan Lake is one of her favorites and she could care less because it took forever for them to get to perform. We actually left early (@330) missing part of the ballet. I know the numerous performances prior to Swan Lake were danced to reel the audience into loving the arts, but it actually worked the opposite way with us. I don't plan on going back anytime soon, despite the beautiful dancing I got to see a little bit of.
Excellent
We went to see Swan Lake. My son had never been to a ballet performance. I loved it. My son was very impressed. When the joker came out, the first thing he said was wow look at those quads! I said his jumps must be powerful. Odette was beautiful. Her technique was flawless. As Odile, she was amazing. The costumes were beautiful. The cast was very good. My hands hurt because of how much I clapped! I wish I could have met the dancers at the end. There was a table selling memorabilia. Nothing there captivated me. It would have been nice if the shirts had Russian writing. Or they had posters or pictures of the ballet. So I didn’t buy anything. I am glad I went. My son said he enjoyed it a lot too! So fun!
